Fans of L. Frank Baum will be invited to “follow the yellow brick road” in February when the Wyoming Seminary Middle School Players present “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” on Friday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m.
The performance will be held in the Amato Auditorium at the Lower School, 1560 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. An encore performance will also be held Saturday, February 16 at 7:00 pm. This production is open to the public; tickets are $2.00 and will be sold at the door.
While sticking to the movie’s original lead roles, director and seventh-grade English teacher Margaret Zeigler and her cast of 34 sixth-through eighth-grade students have chosen to break away from tradition and include flashing lights, a neon yellow brick road, a Wicked Witch entourage and an updated soundtrack. Though the play is not a musical, audiences can look forward to both singing and dancing.
