Sem Upper School Winter MVP Awards Presented

Wyoming Seminary Upper School Director of Athletics Karen Klassner recently announced Sem’s Most Valuable Players, Most Improved Players and Coaches’ Awards for winter sports.

In boys basketball, Gary Robinson, a senior from Brooklyn, N.Y., was named Most Improved while Maxwell Saidman, a senior from Kingston, received the Coaches’ Award. In girls basketball, Daniela Donocikova, a junior from Kosice, Slovakia, was the offensive MVP, while Brielle Winslow-Majette, a senior from Orange, N.J., was the defensive MVP.         

In girls ice hockey, Alena Polenska, a junior from Kunta Hora, Czech Republic, and Amanda Maddalena, a senior from Howell, N.J., received Coaches’ Awards. In boys ice hockey, Kazuma Iwamoto, a senior from Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Japan, was named MVP.           

In girls swimming, Kelly Mericle, a junior from Wilkes-Barre, received the Coaches’ Award. Alexander Hosey, a senior from Danville, received the Coaches’ Award for the boys swim team.           

In wrestling, Adam Healey, a senior from Wilkes-Barre, received the Coaches’ Award.
