"Masco" Patrols the Streets of Kingston thanks to Lower School Volunteer Effort

Kingston Police Officer Sam Blaski and his canine partner, Masco.

He's furry with dark brown eyes and gets around on all fours - and thanks to the efforts by first-grade teacher Sally Sprankle and students at the Lower School, this German Shepherd that goes by the name of "Masco" will be Kingston Police Officer Sam Blaski's new canine partner.

Sprankle organized a Walkathon during one of the Lower School's volunteer-driven "Respect and Responsibility" days at the school. R & R days, as they are known, are held each term and focus on community service efforts that benefit local communities.

As a result of the Walkathon, students raised $4,000 that went directly to the Kingston Police Department's Canine Corps, and Officer Blaski and his partner Masco will be keeping our streets safer.
