Write On, Alumni!

Announcing the competition for an alumni creative writing anthology!

The Alumni Council is sponsoring a literary competition, with the ultimate aim of publishing a creative writing anthology by and for Sem alumni to celebrate Seminary’s 165th year (2008-09).
This project is open to all alumni, not just the many fine professional writers among you. Current Wyoming Seminary members of the Class of 2008 are also encouraged to enter. To get your words and submissions flowing, the Council has put up some cold cash in the form of three prizes to be awarded on Homecoming Weekend in October 2008. Submission deadline is June 15, 2008. The complete guidelines are listed below. We want to hear from you!

HARRY NAGELI ALUMNI POETRY PRIZE:

$250 for the best poem submitted. The prize will be $300 if the poem is a villanelle*, which is reputed to be Mr. Nageli’s favorite form. Check the submission guidelines page for information about villanelles. Submission limit: up to five individual poems, or a grand total of five pages of poetry.

WINIFRED S. SHORTZ ALUMNI CREATIVE NON-FICTION PRIZE:
