Lower School Academics

Wyoming Seminary Lower School serves students from two years old through grade 8. We are a day school located in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, just across the Susquehanna River from Wilkes-Barre. Our roots run deep through the Wyoming Valley, going back as far as 1807 when the first of our ancestral schools, the Wilkes-Barre Institute, opened its doors.

Our small class sizes and low student-teacher ratio facilitate academic achievement and a positive learning environment. Want to learn more? Visit us! Hear about our French, Spanish, and Latin programs, which begin as early as kindergarten and produce national-level award winners by the middle-school years. Find out about our award-winning academic teams and state-of-the-art technology that brings the world into the classroom.

At the end of your visit, check out our after-school program, where your student can learn chess, create an iMovie or learn to dance. Watch our athletes compete on the field while they learn new skills, experience teamwork, and take in the lessons of life that come with it.
