Students
will enjoy learning about an enormous selection of clubs, sports and
other organizations at the Activities Fair, and the Upper School
Parents Association hosts an annual picnic for new families to get to
know Sem and each other.
Freshman Retreat at the Lands at Hillside Farms
Monday, August 30 beginning at 7:45 a.m.
The
class of 2014, along with faculty chaperones and orientation leaders,
will participate in a retreat on Monday, August 30 at the Lands at Hillside Farms
located in Shavertown, Pa. Small groups of students will go through a
series of orientation games as well as perform small tasks for this
local non-profit organization, earning up to three hours of community
service credit. Students should arrive on Sem’s campus at 7:45 a.m. to
begin the day’s activities. For more information, please contact Jonathan Siff, freshman Class Dean, or Jennifer Siff, Director of Student Life.
Tuesday, August 31, the First Day of School, is a Dress-Up Day
The
first day of school is Tuesday, August 31 and is a dress-up day. This
means girls should wear a skirt or a dress and boys should wear a coat
and tie. It is a Sem tradition to start the year with a Convocation
beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a full day of classes. For more
information about the Upper School dress code, click here.
Confused about the day’s schedule? You can check the daily schedule and all announcements on the Upper School calendar. This will replace the online Knight and Day - simply navigate to Upper School > Calendar and Schedules, and click on the letter day (ex: E-Day, T-Day) and the letter day and all announcements will pop up. You can also view all calendar information on Sem's mobile site - just go to www.wyomingseminary.org on your smartphone and click "Sem Upper School Calendar." Questions? e-mail webmaster Patty DeViva at pdeviva@wyomingseminary.org
