Volunteer Opportunities

1. Parents Association Auction: Historically, the primary revenue-producing activity for the Parents Association has been an auction. For the past six years, the auction has been held online and raised more than $250,000 for faculty wish-list items. The auction is a combined Upper and Lower School effort and will be held online in the spring, concluding with a party and “live auction.”

Volunteer opportunities for the Auction include:

  • Items Committee: solicit local businesses, as well as Sem parents and alumni, for items and services for the Auction.

  • Party Committee: plan all aspects of the Auction party and Live Auction in the Great Hall. Help set up on the day of the Live Auction and attend event.

  • Program booklet: help with ad solicitation

  • Raffle: set up tables at school events to sell raffle tickets

2. Sem Week - Sem Week is one week during the fall in which area businesses have agreed to give 10 percent of their "Sem" sales to the Wyoming Seminary Parents Association Fund. The fund supports a faculty wish list that directly benefits Sem students and programs.

3. Deans' Meetings: the purpose of this committee is to spread the word about the meetings and enlist other parents to attend. The meetings are held in the evening in the Stettler Learning Resources Center.

4. Student Auction: held in the Blue Gym, this is a fun night for students that takes place sometime in April.

5. Treats Committee: provides monthly treats for faculty lounge, and provides treats for students during exams.
