ESL Options for Advanced Students
Advanced students are those who discuss - in English - everyday issues with relative ease. They can read and write non-technical material.
Options Session I
During the four weeks of Session I, students whose language skills are sufficiently strong may audition for ensembles in The Performing Arts Institute, or they may take a course from The College Prep Institute curriculum labeled "ESL Friendly."
Options Session II
In Session II, advanced students either continue with their PAI ensembles, enroll in Writing About Literature, Public Speaking, Geometry - Proofs and Sequential Thinking. Some students undertake an Independent Study project under the guidance of the Summer at Sem director of studies. In the evening advanced students ages 16 to 18 may take TOEFL Preparation.
