The tennis program at Wyoming Seminary dates back to the 1800s when male participants wore white dress shirts and long white pants and the females wore full-length white dresses. Prior to 1903, the sport was played primarily for recreation and was not recognized by the school’s Athletic Council as a “regular sport.”

Wyoming Seminary became a part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) in 1984 which made it possible for several boys and girls to compete in district and state competition in singles or in doubles.
