Lower School:
Students
in grades pre-kindergarten through seventh grade are encouraged to
visit Wyoming Seminary’s Lower School, which is a
preschool (age three) through grade eight independent day school
dedicated to small classes and excellence in education. The Lower
School offers individualized attention, modern library, auditorium and
gymnasium, music and art classes, study of Spanish beginning in
pre-kindergarten, French beginning in kindergarten and Latin in grades
seven and eight, nine middle school sports for girls and boys, and a
wide range of extracurricular and after-school activities.
Upper School:
The
Upper School is an independent coeducational college preparatory school
that enrolls about 440 day and boarding students from 15 states and 20
countries in grades nine through 12, as well as a postgraduate year.
Sem offers more than 160 courses and 25 Advanced Placement courses in all
major disciplines. Twenty
sports are available for girls and boys. Sem’s outstanding fine and
performing arts program offers vocal and instrumental music, theater,
dance and visual arts opportunities.
Sem’s excellent college
guidance staff members work closely with students, beginning in the
sophomore year, to help them identify and apply to the college or
university that is best for them. All of Sem graduates
attend college: in 2009, 84 percent of the graduating class gained
admission to “very,” “highly,” or “most competitive” colleges and
universities.
