Events and Activities

Grades 9 – 12,

Day and Boarding Program

Boarders engage in late afternoon activities following classes. These activities provide students a chance to develop skills and special interests in team sports or in studio arts.

The Performing Arts Institute’s symphony orchestra, string ensembles, vocal groups and jazz band rehearse in the late afternoon. All Summer at Sem students may audition for these performing groups. Those who qualify are sure to have some of the most rewarding rehearsal and performance experiences of their lives!

Summer at Sem offers a variety of recreational trips for students, which generally occur on the weekends. Trips in the past have included, hiking, amusement parks, summer theater visits, indoor ice skating, excursions to baseball games, 4th of July fireworks and a concert in the park!

In addition, the weekends also offer some free time to enjoy the Upper School campus of Wyoming Seminary. Here students are presented with a variety of social and recreational activities. Outdoor dances, along with the student center and athletic facilities offer fun-filled events for everyone. The concert and show schedule of the Performing Arts Institute further enhances the activities calendar.

Approximately 500 students call Wyoming Seminary their summer home. They come from many corners of the world for academic enrichment, advancement in English as their second language, and for immersion in the performing arts. The convergence of people from many cultures and with various interests makes Summer at Sem an amazingly interesting and enriching summer community.
