School Nurse — Evening
Wyoming Seminary Upper School seeks an Evening Nurse to provide health services to students, faculty, and staff after school hours; to administer medication as needed; and be available in the event of illness and emergencies. The successful candidate may also at times be responsible for coordinating care with the school doctor, athletic trainers, local public health department, and medical providers, while providing effective communication with families.
This role is a 10-month, full-time salary position. Hours are 1:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 1:30 to 6 p.m. Friday. On-call every other weekend. Benefits available, as well as potential for growth.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as on-campus, first responder for all medical emergencies
- Provides medical assessments and care for students, grades 9 through postgraduate
- Electronic documentation through Magnus Health of daily assessment and care provided
- Referral and occasional transportation to the school physician and/or local providers for treatment of acute illness and injury
- Acts In Loco Parentis for all boarding students and accompanies them to the Emergency Department or Surgery (as needed) in absence of a parent/guardian. Nurse works with the administrator on duty to coordinate additional coverage or transportation.
- Communicates with parents regarding all illness and injury, advising protocol as necessary
- Administers prescription and OTC medication as necessary
- Assists school counselors with management of students in acute distress
- Handles concussion management and follows up with school personnel as well as parents — in conjunction with the Director of Health Services and Athletic Training Department
Qualifications/Skills:
- Current Pennsylvania RN or LPN license
- Able to obtain all PA required clearances for work in a school setting and has a valid PA driver’s license
- Past medical surgical, public health, or pediatric experience preferred
- Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support certification
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing demands of a school population
- Proficient verbal and writing skills to facilitate communication with parents
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to climb up to four flights of stairs as needed and ambulate quickly across a 25-acre campus with multiple administrative, academic and athletic facilities

Full-Time Security Guard
Wyoming Seminary seeks a Full-Time Security Guard to maintain the safety and security of the students, school staff, and the facility. The successful candidate, who reports to the Director of Security, will check the identity of all visitors when coming on campus while also facilitating guidance for students, parents, and visitors.
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Work may be performed outside in seasonal temperatures as well as inside of buildings. Work will be performed primarily on a split shift and schedules will include 11:00 - 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 - 11:00 p.m. including weekends, coverage for sporting events, campus events, etc. Flexibility is required.
Main Duties:
- Ensures security for school operations and special events.
- Ensures that campus facilities and school community members are secure.
- Keeps alert for people with unusual behavior/attitude around campus.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others; service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to do considerable walking to make rounds of facility.
- Work requires considerable physical effort or manual dexterity.
- Organized, focused, and able to follow detailed instructions.
Qualifications — Education/Certification/Skills:
- Qualification as a police officer, or security guard, or has served in the military.
- Current or recent experience for at least three years as a police officer/security/military employee is required.
- Act 235 certification.
- Understands campus security needs.
- Knowledge of using campus security systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- NASRO training a plus.
- Must be able to pass background checks.

Lower School Music Appreciation/Band Teacher
Wyoming Seminary seeks a full-time Music Appreciation/Band Teacher to start in August 2024. This position involves teaching music appreciation classes to Grades 5-8 as well as conducting our three Middle School band ensembles (Grades 5 & 6, Grades 7 & 8, and Jazz Band). A commitment to arts education is essential. Ideal candidates must also possess a willingness to work closely with other members of the arts department, participate in co-curricular activities, and perform other duties as expected.

Assistant Athletic Trainer/Health Teacher
Wyoming Seminary seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Health Teacher who works in close partnership with other athletic trainers, the athletic department, parents, and other essential healthcare providers to provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is present during practice sessions and contests to act as a first responder supporting student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and under the direction of standing orders while implementing the following:
- Management of acute injury or illness to athlete
- Rehabilitation procedures
- Operation of therapeutic devices and equipment
- Application of braces, guards, tape, and other devices
- Referrals to the physician, health services, or hospital
- Maintains appropriate documentation for student injuries and treatment per professional and regulatory standards
- Multitasks and prioritizes student needs and program responsibilities in an organized and timely manner
- Communicates effectively in high-pressure situations when talking to coaches, patients, medical professionals, staff, and families
- Assists with transporting boarding students to medical appointments
- Teaches 1-2 sections of health per term in collaboration with the Director of Health Services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training and must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification
- Athletic Training Licensure from the state of Pennsylvania
- Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certified
- Required to complete Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
This is a 10-month, full-time position from August-early June with weekend responsibilities and weekend travel in the fall. Wyoming Seminary offers the opportunity for on-campus housing (room and board included) in exchange for service on the dormitory staff.

Rowing Coach
Wyoming Seminary seeks a Rowing Coach for Grades 9 through postgraduate student-athletes, starting immediately. The coach will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to all facets of the rowing program in advancing the mission of Wyoming Seminary and the Athletic Department. The coach will report directly to the Associate Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department. This is a part-time position in itself but can be paired with other campus openings if opportunities arise.
Wyoming Seminary's rowing program is a member of the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association (PSRA), competing in sculling events at scholastic regattas in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Specific areas of responsibility include on- and off-water rowing-specific coaching, recruitment, student-athlete development, program administration, and program advancement. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of Wyoming Seminary, the Athletic Department, and National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).
Responsibilities:
- Schedules regattas with the Athletic Department
- Partners with the Admission Office to recruit mission-appropriate applicants
- Oversees the development and progress of each student-athlete
- Communicates regularly and clearly with parents about program expectations, culture, practice schedules, etc.
- Collaborates with the Director of Athletics and Athletic Department colleagues, Upper and Lower School faculty and staff, and the broader school community
- Oversees school rowing equipment and assists in maintaining club facilities and equipment (boats, oars, rowing machines, launches, trailer)
- Potential for teaching on a part-time basis
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated coaching experience with adolescents in this age group
- A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community
- Personal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children — must be fun, energetic, creative, flexible, and patient
