Search for Sem's 16th Head of School
Wyoming Seminary has begun the search for its next Head of School, who will begin July 1, 2027. This page will serve as the central source for search information and updates throughout the process.
Search Leadership
The Wyoming Seminary Board of Trustees holds responsibility for appointing the next Head of School. Board Chair Tara Mugford Wilson '88 and the Board are approaching this important responsibility with care, deliberation, and a commitment to the long-term strength of the School.
Search Committee
A Board-appointed Search Committee will work closely with the search consultants throughout the process, helping gather community input, participating in candidate review and interviews, and ultimately making a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

Search Partner
Wyoming Seminary has engaged IndySchool Consultancy (ISC), a national firm specializing in independent school leadership searches, to support the Head of School search. Search consultants Tim Viands and Chris Brueningsen will guide community discovery, leadership profile development, candidate sourcing and evaluation, interviews, finalist visits, and transition planning.

Confidentiality
A successful search must balance meaningful community engagement with appropriate candidate confidentiality. Many strong candidates are currently serving in leadership roles at other schools. Protecting their confidentiality allows Wyoming Seminary to attract a strong candidate pool and maintain the integrity of the process.
Community members are asked not to contact candidates directly or share confidential candidate information outside the approved search process.
