Wyoming Seminary Seniors Celebrate Their Next Chapter on National College Decision Day
The Class of 2026 gathered on campus today in a sea of college colors, proudly marking National College Decision Day at Wyoming Seminary – an annual tradition that celebrates not just where students are headed, but how far they’ve come.
Students were excited to share the colleges and universities they're headed to after graduation.

It is a relatively new tradition at Sem, but one that has quickly become a senior favorite. Students wear sweatshirts and T-shirts to hats and pennants displaying the names of the colleges and universities they will attend this fall, sign a banner in the college counseling office, then gather at the Bell Tower for a photo and celebratory shout.
The atmosphere was equal parts excitement, pride, and reflection as classmates, faculty, and staff paused to recognize this milestone moment together.
College Decision Day, observed nationally on May 1, honors the deadline by which many students commit to their postsecondary plans. At Sem, the day is more than a decision – it’s a celebration of each student’s unique journey that students, faculty and staff can recognize together.
For many seniors, that journey has been shaped by close relationships with faculty, opportunities to explore academic passions, and a supportive community that encourages growth both inside and outside the classroom. Whether they discovered a love of science research, developed confidence through public speaking, or found their voice in the arts or athletics, each student’s path has been distinctly their own.
As they gathered for photos and shared their plans with friends and teachers, there was a strong sense of gratitude – for the experiences they’ve had and the people who have helped guide them along the way.
“As a college counselor, the most gratifying thing for me is that there are so many different t-shirts,” said Anne Lew, associate director of College Counseling and history faculty, “there is not one college over and over again, and that’s what we love because everyone has a different fit that is just right for them.”
With graduation on the horizon, today’s celebration offered a meaningful pause – a chance to look ahead with excitement while honoring the years that brought them here.
At Wyoming Seminary, success looks different for every student. Today, that success was on full display.
