The Climate Science and Sustainability (CSS) Academic Concentration is a program designed for Wyoming Seminary Upper School students who wish to focus their studies and engage in a variety of experiences that center around the scientific, global, atmospheric, economic and societal implications of climate change. This work includes fieldwork, research and portfolio development, culminating in a senior-year Capstone Project. Work is regularly reviewed by a preselected panel and later presented and displayed to the community during senior year.

As part of Wyoming Seminary's focus on environmental education and climate action, beautiful pollinator and birding gardens were installed prior to the 2022-23 school year behind the Stettler Learning Resource Center (SLRC) on the Wyoming Seminary Upper School campus. These gardens are used for student-led biodiversity tours and workshops. Financial and other support for this project was provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's 2022 Environmental Education Grants Program.

The newest of these three programs, Wyoming Seminary's Humanities and Global Studies Academic Concentration debuted in the 2022-23 school year. It is a four-year program designed for students who wish to focus their studies on history, language, culture or politics. Work is done in the classroom, through interdisciplinary academic studies, and outside, via experiential learning. Students chronicle their work in a portfolio and present their findings in a senior-year Capstone Project.

International travel experiences enable students to broaden their perspective and enrich their understanding of the world.

Sem offers travel opportunities that are especially impactful for students involved in the Humanities and Global Studies Academic Concentration, as it provides a chance to chronicle their work through first-hand experiences that expand appreciation for diverse cultures, encourage self-discovery and introduce new activities and destinations rich in history, art and architecture.

Wyoming Seminary's STEM/STEAM Academic Concentration is a four-year program with potential emphases including but not limited to natural and applied sciences, technology and computer science, engineering, art and design and math. In concert with academic coursework, STEM/STEAM learners must complete discipline-specific work through independent projects sustained throughout their sophomore, junior and senior years. This work is chronicled in a student's portfolio, leading up to a Capstone Project to be completed by the fall term of senior year.

Capstone Projects are a one-time — but central — part of any student's journey within an Academic Concentration. STEM/STEAM is no exception.

Students present their Capstone Project at the end of senior year in an informal setting before students, faculty and staff. These presentations offer an opportunity to celebrate the research of seniors who successfully completed their portfolio, while also giving attendees a chance to engage with the research.
