Science Research Group

Science Research Group (SRG), which was established in 1996 by faculty member Dr. Andrea Nerozzi, is an in-house extracurricular activity that supports students, with or without a Concentration affiliation, who are interested in "hands-on" experiences in STEM.

In SRG, students design novel projects in an area of interest to them, using equipment and protocols that go beyond the regular classroom, and presenting their work in public forums. Since its inception, SRG has supported nearly 200 students and 400 projects, with many earning recognition in regional, state, and national science competitions.

The annual SRG Night continues to be a popular spring term academic event, showcasing student work through seminars and demonstrations. Alumni report that SRG helped them acquire the practical experience that informs collegiate and career choices and accelerates entry to research colleges.

Over the years, SRG has also supported science-based community service projects with an environmental emphasis.

SRG has supported nearly 200 students, with many earning recognition in regional, state and national science competitions and acquiring the practical experience that informs collegiate and career choices.
