Be Transformed at Sem!
Are you ready for a change?
Are you ready to be transformed? As a student at Wyoming Seminary, your life will change in the best possible ways.
At Sem, a day and boarding school for students in grades toddler through postgraduate, we teach our students that character matters, and we stress the importance of accepting others who look and think differently. While the majority of our students live locally, about one-third of our Upper School students come from as many as 12 states and 20 countries, or more.
Small class sizes are the norm, with an average of 14 students per class and an 8:1 student-faculty ratio. Lower School (toddler-eighth grade) is the place to build a solid foundation, where our students’ earliest love of learning is carefully nurtured by highly talented teachers. A comprehensive curriculum that includes strong academics, arts and languages sets the stage for success at our Upper School and beyond.
At Upper School (ninth-postgraduate grades) we offer more than 160 courses and 22 AP courses. With 15 sports to choose from, such as rowing and girls wrestling, nearly 80 percent of students participate in athletics, and our field hockey, wrestling, swimming and ice hockey teams have earned state and national recognition.
Sem’s new Kirby Center for Creative Arts showcases college-level arts programs in music, theater, dance and visual arts. A wide range of clubs offers many opportunities for fun and leadership. And Sem’s deeply experienced college guidance staff helps each Sem graduate find the perfect college fit, often in the top universities in the nation. These are some of the reasons why Sem is ranked as one of the top independent schools in Pennsylvania.
