Theatrical opportunities are offered to students beginning in fifth grade. During the second week of the Fall Term, students are invited to audition for the Lower School Players, a group that annually presents a play each November.
No experience is needed to audition, just an open mind and a positive attitude. For those students who would rather not perform on stage, they are invited to be a part of the Lower School Players Stage Crew. Rehearsals are typically held twice a week until the performance in November.
Performances alternate each year between a play and a musical. While there is no admission fee, students select a charity each year to support and hold a collection to present to that respective charity.
Drama is introduced to Middle School students as it instills confidence and provides camaraderie, especially for students who may not want to participate in sports. The Lower School Players allow students to discover new talents and appreciation for the performing arts that they hopefully continue with at the Upper School and beyond.
