The Wyoming Seminary Dance Program is open to everyone — those trying dance for the first time or students with dance training.

Students can join any term or any time. If they are doing a sport or after-school activity and are unable to start in the fall, they can begin when the sports season is over or start at the beginning of the next term.

Classes that have been offered include:

• Ballet 
• Tap
• Aerobic Dance
• Hip Hop
• Cardio Kick Boxing
• Contemporary-Lyrical
• Broadway Dance
• Swing
• Yoga
• Choreography Workshop

Master classes with guest teachers are held during the year to offer additional dance experiences for students.

Classes/rehearsals are scheduled after school — usually 3:30 p.m. to 6 pm. throughout the week. 

Fall — A variety of classes is offered and those interested participate in the Fall Musical.

Winter — A variety of classes are offered. Dancers in the Dance Company begin work on the spring performance and selected juniors and seniors work on student choreography.

Spring — Dance Company members work extensively on the Spring Dance Performance. All participating members will concentrate on creating pieces, learning choreography, working with other dancers to polish and perfect our repertoire.

To encourage participation in dance, Wyoming Seminary offers three levels of participation:

• Enrichment: Students can come take classes for their enjoyment.
• Physical Education Credit: Students must take at least two classes a week and complete a required number of sessions to get physical education credits for the term.
• Dance Company: These dancers will be the performers of the department and participate in the annual spring production. They will receive physical education credit for their work throughout the year.
