Cross Country - Girls
Overview
The Wyoming Seminary cross country program is designed to foster a love for running while promoting physical fitness, camaraderie and a competitive spirit among student-athletes.
As a member of the Wyoming Valley Conference, Sem's boys cross country team has won a pair of division titles (2007, '15) and the girls team has won seven such championships (1995, '00, '04, '06, '07, '14, '15). The boys' team had a 4-11 record in 2023 and the girls went 8-8. Additionally, Jack Novelli '24 and Rebecca Polgar '24 qualified for the PIAA Class A state championship meet with Novelli placing 18th and earning a medal.
In addition to the individual and team success enjoyed during high school, many athletes have continued running after graduation and regularly compete in marathons and triathlons.
We believe that cross country is not just a sport, but a journey of self-discovery that encourages student-athletes to challenge themselves and push beyond their comfort zones.
Sem cross country promotes an inclusive environment, fielding a team that includes those who aspire to be competitive athletes and others who simply enjoy the benefits of regular exercise and friendship.
