Soccer - Girls
Overview
The Wyoming Seminary girls soccer program is designed to produce student-athletes who can respond intuitively to any game situation with the proper technique and skill. Tactical decisions are made with speed, flair and imagination.
Despite facing the challenges that come with playing in the competitive Wyoming Valley Conference, Sem's commitment and passion for soccer forges an unbreakable bond among its players who encourage teammates to develop their skills, build self-confidence and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship.
Sem is a two-time District 2 champion (1996, '02) and has also earned four divisional championships (1991, '02, '07, '08). In 2022, Sem had a 6-6 record in WVC league play. The Blue Knights then went 8-9 in 2023 and qualified for the District 2 Class 2A quarterfinals.
The Wyoming Seminary girls soccer team prides itself in creating a close-knit community that supports one another through all challenges and triumphs.
The support network formed on the pitch, through practices, games and team-bonding activities, extends beyond the field and fosters personal growth and friendships.

Christopher Gardner — Head Coach
Christopher Gardner has played soccer since his childhood in Dallas, Texas. He played at Southern Methodist University, as well as in British university leagues as a graduate student. He played semi-professionally for two years before committing to teaching and coaching.
He earned his E-Level coaching certification in Maryland in 2012 and did the coursework for a D-Level license the next year. He was Varsity Soccer Coach at West Nottingham Academy in Maryland for 7 years before coming to Wyoming Seminary, where he was an assistant coach for the boys’ team last year before becoming coach of the girls’ team this year.
