As a member of the Wyoming Valley Conference and District 2 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Wyoming Seminary's boys tennis team has a long history of competing for and winning championships.
Sem has won more than 35 divisional championships all-time, including the historic 2001 season when it earned division, district and state titles.
More recently, Sem in 2019 won WVC and District 2 Class 2A championships.
The Blue Knights in 2022 posted an 8-1 record in the regular season and advanced to the District 2 Class 2A semifinals as a team. Several individuals also achieved postseason success in singles and doubles.
Sem's three-member coaching staff is led by Raphael Cooper, whose 2021 Wyoming Seminary girls tennis team won the PIAA Class 2A state championship.

Raphael Cooper — Head Coach
Prior to joining Wyoming Seminary, Head Girls Tennis Coach Raphael Cooper served as head coach of the girls tennis team at Wilkes-Barre Area. In its first season of the program, the Wolfpack qualified for the District 2 AAA playoffs.
Prior to taking over the Wolfpack, Cooper was the head coach for the boys and girls tennis teams at GAR, where he helped transform the teams into viable and respected opponents.
Cooper, named the 2017 USTA Coach of the Year, founded the Wilkes-Barre Tennis Association in 2017. He provides free tennis instruction to youths of the Wilkes-Barre Area, within the elementary and intermediate school ages. He also founded the Quad County Classic.
A magna cum laude graduate of Wilkes University with a major in secondary English and a minor in dance, Cooper is an English teacher in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District and also teaches in the Performing Arts School.
