The Geography Bee will take place on Friday, December 14

Children & Youth Gift Project

Students in Grades 4 through 8 were given the opportunity to provide a small gift to a less fortunate child. If participating, your student selected a child's name with a few gift ideas to take home to you this week. The gifts should not exceed $25.00 and should be returned to his/her homerooms today, November 28. Gift wrapping is not required. Thank you for your continued generosity. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

White Team Event

White Team Members in Grades 5 through 8 are welcome to participate in creating holiday cards for active military personnel as well as local veterans. This event will take place on Tuesday, December 4, after school in Room 216 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Holiday Tea and Concert

Our annual holiday choral concert will be held on Friday, December 21. The concert begins at 9:00 a.m. (auditorium doors open at 8:45 a.m.). Concert dress is required for all participating chorus students. All boys will be required to wear a jacket, shirt and tie or turtleneck, dress slacks, dress socks and shoes. Girls are required to wear a dress or a skirt and blouse/sweater and dress shoes.

All Grade 8 students who are not in the Holiday Concert should report to
Mr. Switzer's Room at 10:30 a.m., also in dress attire as detailed above. The Grade 8 Ornaments will be presented during the Holiday Tea this year.

The Holiday Tea begins immediately following the concert in the gymnasium. All parents and grandparents are cordially invited. A reminder that ONLY eighth-grade students are to attend the tea. All other students should remain in their classrooms until they are picked up for dismissal.

Inclement Weather

With the recent inclement weather day on our minds, we urge you to review the information below prior to an actual snow event. The office, bus monitors, and all school personnel are extremely busy handling busing details, public school districts phone calls, announcements, updates to and from teachers, etc. The Lower School will follow the instructions you provided on your family's early dismissal form. Please contact the main office this week if you have changes or would like to review your selections. The office and classroom teachers should have the same instructions to follow on any early dismissal day.

Early Dismissal: When we are contacted by a school district about an early dismissal, parents of children who ride the bus may expect their students to be dismissed when that bus arrives. Students who do not ride the bus but whose district is closing early may be picked up at the early dismissal time in the main office.

Delayed Opening: If your school district is on a delayed opening schedule, your student will be permitted to arrive in accordance with your district's announced time, whether your student rides the bus or is driven to school.

School Closing: If your school district closes your student will not be expected in school even if we are open. If you wish to transport your student in this situation, do so at your own discretion.

Our students' safety is our main concern during bad weather. As always, please check our homepage often and sign up for text alerts for weather-related announcements. For more detailed information about our Inclement Weather Policy please see our lower school handbook.
