ORDER EARTH DAY T SHIRTS - 50th ANNIVERSARY OF EARTH DAY
This year is Earth Day's fiftieth year! You may dress down on Wednesday, April 22, if you wear a shirt that says Earth Day or pay $2 that will go toward an Environmental Club charity. If you would like to order from an array of special fiftieth year Earth Day shirts, customized with our school name on the sleeve, please complete this order form with a check made payable to Wyoming Seminary and return to Mrs. Carrick by Thursday, February 27.

CUPCAKE WARS - CONGRATULATIONS
The annual Global Language Cupcake Wars was held on Monday, February 17. While working on "food" vocabulary units, the Spanish and French students vied to win the coveted title. Mrs. Sims' and Mme. Scavone's classes each wrote paragraphs about their cupcake ideas. Then, they baked their original creations which were judged by members of the Lower School faculty and staff. Everyone enjoyed the tasty competition! The 2020 winners were Megan S. and Hannah S. with their marshmallow flower, banana cupcake; Aidan B. with his flan cupcakes. Other winners were Ben M. and Joe G. for their apple cinnamon creation and Izzy S., Ellie H., and Anna P. for their "Baby Yoda" cupcake.
HEALTH INFORMATION REQUEST
Magnus is an online system for our school to collect, track and manage student health information. Please log on to complete needed information including: vital health record, Lower School consent to treat, over the counter medications, prescription medication and physical and immunization forms. DENTAL HEALTH MONTH! In honor of Children's Dental Health Month, Dr. Jason Nataupsky '03 made his annual visit to the Lower School kindergarten and first-grade classes. The students learned about the importance of taking care of their teeth, and everyone received a goody bag filled with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a brushing timer. Many thanks to Dr. Nataupsky for coming to Lower School and making dental care so much FUN!
EARLY CHILDHOOD CONFERENCES
Reminder: Children in our toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten class WILL have school the days of conferences, which are scheduled as follows:
PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
The Pennies for Patients program sponsored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is in full swing again this year. Your child should have received their own coin box for collecting change, dollars, and checks (made out to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). Spare change can turn up anywhere and your child can make a difference just by collecting it. Thanks to you and your child in advance for helping LLS create a world without blood cancers. SELECT CHORUS - HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS SHOW
The Select Chorus has another fun performance planned for February 22, 7:00 p.m. at the Harlem Globetrotters Show at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Wilkes-Barre. They will perform the National Anthem at the start of the show. Please open here for all of the details. Hope to see you there!
ERB ASSESSMENT TESTS COMING SOON
ERB assessment tests will be administered in March - April, 2020. All Lower School students in grades 3 through 7 will be taking the ERB tests online.
FIRST GRADE - UNITED WAY BOOK DRIVE
The first-grade classes are partnering with the United Way of Wyoming Valley to promote literacy. Donations of new or gently used books may be dropped off in designated boxes in the Lower School. Please open for more information. Thank you for your support.
VALENTINE'S DAY PIZZA PARTIES
What a great day for pizza! Many thanks to the Lower School Parents Association for making Valentine's Day so fun and festive!
WYOMING SEMINARY BASH AND AUCTION!
Save the date for the Wyoming Seminary Bash and Auction, Friday, April 24, 2020. We hope everyone will get involved in this exciting event and there are many ways to help out before the big event. Sponsorship opportunities are available at three levels, click here to learn more about those. We are looking for item donations for the online auction that will start the week before the event. Items can be dropped off at the Lower School to the attention of Maddie Kropp. The annual 50/50 raffle tickets will be mailed soon so keep an eye out for them!
