WINTER TERM LEARNING CHOICE As has been announced, we are allowing families the opportunity to review their learning choice each term. If you would like to change your choice (moving from virtual to in-person or in-person to virtual) for the winter term, please let Dr. Hanlon know by October 15 at the latest. Please note that due to space and personnel limitations, if you do not request a change by October 15, we may not be able to accommodate it until the spring. No action is necessary if you want to keep your current choice. Thanks for your cooperation!
OPEN GRADEBOOKS/COMMENTS A reminder that gradebooks are now open for all middle school students. Please refer to this video for instructions on how to access gradebooks: PowerSchool. Also, mid-term comments are also in PowerSchool for any student with a grade below C-. Please log into PowerSchool to review your child's progress and contact us with any questions.
"EARTH DAY 50.5" DRESS DOWN October 22 is exactly 6 months after the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Since schooling was virtual on April 22, we will now celebrate "Earth Day 50.5" with a dress down day on Thursday, October 22. This day will help us pause and reflect how we can better care for Earth. Please wear an Earth Day or green t-shirt that day. Mrs. Carrick will distribute the 50th Earth Day shirts purchased last spring on Monday, October 19. In the next Wednesday Weekly, October 21, Mrs. Carrick and the Environmental Club will be sharing some everyday ways we can better care for our Earth. CALENDAR CHANGE In an attempt to allow for faculty professional development, planning, and meeting time, we are going to add three half-days to our calendar. One Friday per term (October 30, February 5, and May 7) will now be a noon dismissal for all students. There will be busing on these dates, both in the morning and at the noon dismissal. 2020 SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR Our "ONLINE" Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! The fall theme is Book Fair Time Machine, Reading Can Take You Anywhere! Students, parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to shop from our Online Book Fair from October 17-30, 2020.

PARENT TEACHER VIRTUAL CONFERENCES WSLS All-School Virtual Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16. Thursday will be a noon dismissal and busing will be available in the morning and at noon. There is no school on Friday. Parents are asked to please schedule your conference online. While everyone is welcome to schedule a conference, we are aware that our open lines of communication may result in little need for one. If that is the case, please feel free to let your child's teacher know that you will not be scheduling a conference. We do appreciate conference slots being available for those who most need them. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
Please note:
Toddler and Preschool teachers will be be in touch to schedule their own conferences.
Online directions: 1.) Click the following link: Fall Conferences 2.) Double-click the form for the teacher you want to schedule with. 3.) You may have to click the "pop-out" icon at the top of the page. (It is a small square with an arrow in the top right corner, located between the magnifying glass icon and the "X" icon on the top right side of your screen.) 4.) Once the screen is opened all the way, you may begin typing in it. You will note that there are a finite number of time slots. If there are no more times available, or if you would like to schedule a different day/time to meet with your teacher, please contact them directly to make those arrangements. 5.) Please do not edit/change someone else's time slot. 6.) Teachers will provide a Zoom link and/or it is listed on the sign-up sheet. HALLOWEEN DRESS DOWN - OCTOBER 30 Due to October 30th now being a noon dismissal as well as the realities of Covid, our celebration of Halloween will be a bit more casual this year. In lieu of costumes, we will have a school-wide orange and black dress down day. We will also have in-class celebrations as well as the Middle School pizza parties. Please be in touch with your child's teacher or the office with any questions. SIDEWALK ART
Mrs. Warren and her very talented young art students (Grade 4) took the opportunity to sketch scenes from nature while enjoying a beautiful fall day. HEALTH TRACKER REQUIRED As cold and flu season draws near, everyone must do their part to keep the Wyoming Seminary community safe. Completion of the Student Health Tracker is required each day before school. If you haven't started using the tracker yet, you must do so immediately. Again, this is required for all students (Toddler - 8th grade). You can bookmark this link for easy access each morning. If your child is sick, (sore throat, runny nose, cough, fever, nausea/vomiting, headache, muscle/body aches, chills, shortness of breath), please keep him/her home from school, as well as siblings, and follow-up with the pediatrician.
