SEM'S "CEREAL BOX DOMINO" RUN
Tomorrow, April 1, 2021, the Lower School will hold its first cereal box domino run to support the Al Beech Food Pantry. We thank all of you for your numerous donations which makes this event possible. A special thank you to our Wyoming Seminary Upper School engineering team for your help and the design of this domino run.
On the day of the event, all students will be invited to watch and cheer while the dominos fall throughout the school! All teachers will have the opportunity to live stream it to their classrooms.
Once the domino run is complete, your contribution will be donated to the Al Beech Food bank to feed local families. Thank you for participating! #SEMcares THIRD GRADE - SIMPLE MACHINES
Third Graders began a brand new unit learning about Simple Machines. With the help of Mr. Eidam and his legos, the students built simple machines using levers, wheel and axles, pulleys and gears. Each machine was put through a variety of test trials and adapted for various tasks. The culminating activity was to work with a partner to first design, and then build, a pinball machine using the lego technology they explored. Our Third Graders successfully became Pinball Wizards! PIZZA FUNDRAISER WINNER!
Dear Lower School Families,
Thank you so much for your participation in our Revello's Pizza fundraiser! Congratulations to our winners in Grade 8! Thank you for all of your hard work and sales. Enjoy the eighth grade dress down day tomorrow, April 1, 2021.
All proceeds will benefit the Wyoming Seminary Lower School community. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Mauriello (kimberlymauriello@gmail.com) or Dona Hall (donahall305@gmail.com).
As always, thank you for your time and participation!
Kim Mauriello & Dona Hall WSLSPA SEM-SATIONAL: MARCH - ADVENTURE
In last week's Sem Spotlight, we learned that Round Square has seven ideals, one of them being adventure! We asked Junior Blue Key students, Jacob N. of Grade 8, John R. of Grade 7 and Kathryn E. of Grade 6, to tell us what adventure means to them! Read the latest post of The SEM-sational here. DRESS CODE CHANGES FOR SPRING
Beginning on April 1 the following dress code changes go into effect: Primary: Chino shorts may be worn in September, October, April and May. Plain or pleated-front chino shorts may be worn in April and May. Cargo pants or shorts are never permitted. Belts must be worn (suggested for grades 1 & 2, required for grades 3 & 4). Sneakers, dress shoes or boots may be worn all year (no sandals or flip-flops).
Middle School (grades 5-8): Plain or pleated-front chino shorts may be worn in April and May. Belts must be worn. Boots are allowed from November through March only. Dress sandals are permitted in April and May. For safety reasons, no rubber or leather-soled flip flops are permitted. This year students may continue to wear athletic shorts or pants, t-shirts, and sneakers on PE days. We would prefer that these be SEM branded and/or blue and white. Thank you! A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
Dear SEM Families,
If you are receiving alert emails from Magnus, it means that your child has medical forms that need to be updated. Please log in to Magnus and complete any requested information. Although Wyoming Seminary has lifted the protocol for quarantine after domestic travel, a 10-day quarantine or PCR COVID-19 testing should follow any high-risk activities where COVID-19 mitigation measures of mask-wearing, social distancing and hand hygiene are not maintained.
