The second grade students of Mrs. Austin and Mrs. Schukraft recently presented their traditional fall musical "Of Mice and Mozart." Mrs. Paciotti directed the music and Mr. Piazza's provided lights and technical support. For some students, it was a first experience performing on stage. The show was enjoyed by all! HEALTH OFFICE REMINDERS As you know, we are endeavoring to keep Wyoming Seminary Lower School in full in-person learning throughout the winter months. In pursuit of that goal, we offer the following reminders and updated protocols. Please note that these will be strictly enforced - we appreciate your cooperation. • Do not send your child to school sick (ie frequent cough, continuous nasal congestion, fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, body aches, fatigue). Even if it is not Covid-19 related, sick children should not be in school. To that end, please understand if you are called to pick your child up from school.
• If your child has symptoms of Covid-19, a PCR test is required. We will no longer accept at-home antigen tests.
• Face masks must fit snugly around the nose and chin. Extra masks should be sent in your child's backpack daily.
• If your child participates in after-school activities, please continue the mitigation measures of mask-wearing, social distancing, and frequent handwashing.
• Even if your child is fully-vaccinated for Covid-19, do not send your child to school if they are sick. If necessary, contact your child's pediatrician and arrange for a PCR Covid-19 test.
• If you suspect that you or a member of your household have Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, please contact me immediately @
(570) 407-0409. Please understand that your actions can affect other families who may be dealing with chronic health issues and may be more susceptible to being severely affected by Covid-19 or other illness. We need to come together to protect everyone in our community. Please contact me with any questions. We wanted to let you know that as part of our work in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, Wyoming Seminary will be administering the Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism (AIM) in late January/ early February. More information about this survey can be found on the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) website. We have included a short excerpt / description below: The AIM Online Climate Survey engages your community in a confidential analysis designed to elicit feedback on school climate and culture. Members of all constituent groups are given access to the online survey, and upon completion, the school receives summarized results. These results come in an easy-to-digest format the school can put to use in strategic planning and in follow-up training and programming. We have established a steering committee of both Lower and Upper School personnel. This group will organize and direct the survey administration as well as review the responses and determine the next steps. Please be in touch with any questions. We look forward to your participation in the survey. ~ Kathy Hanlon and Rachel Bartron 1560 Wyoming Avenue • Forty Fort, PA 18704 • 570-718-6600 |
