| Carline Update
As the cooler weather season approaches, we are going to attempt a new carline traffic pattern. Our hope is to have students enter their cars sooner and warmer! The middle school and primary sides will remain the same, please continue to follow the same process of entering and lining up on the appropriate sides (left for any middle school and right for primary only).
The change involves how and when these lanes move. As early arriving families know, we block the entire driveway while afternoon outdoor activities are happening. Beginning on Monday, December 6th , the middle school side will remain blocked back by the map. (We reiterate our suggestion that middle school only families not arrive before 3:10 p.m.) Carline personnel will direct the primary line families to fill both lanes up to the crosswalk. Once the entire primary line has moved through, carline personnel will direct the middle school line to move forward to stage for dismissal. Please do not switch lanes unless directed to do so by carline personnel. Again, it is our hope that this new system will allow for our students to enter their cars quicker and closer to the building.
As with all changes, we will assess this new system and adapt as necessary. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping to keep our students safe.

WEBS 2021
20 years ago Wyoming Seminary Lower School and Wilkes University started WEBS – Women Empowered by Science, which now has expanded to other schools and to a WEBS summer camp. During this unique year, our sixth grade girls participated in WEBS labs in the Lower School 7/8 science lab, led by Wilkes professors and students virtually, rather than completing the labs at Wilkes. What stayed the same was some fun science while learning a little more about college science and science careers. Mrs. Carrick thanks the WEBS girls, their parents, and Wilkes University for keeping WEBS going these past 20 years, and we look forward to more WEBS for our rising sixth grade girls next fall! |

BLUE AND WHITE TEAM FOOD DRIVE The entire Middle School body of students did a wonderful job in the first Blue/White Team competition of the 2021-2022 school year. The community service project took place before the Thanksgiving Holiday Break. The Blue team, led by their 8th grade team leaders of Anna Prusak and Izzy Shoemaker, collected over 304 items, while the White Team, led by their 8th grade team leaders of Emma Butcher and John Redington, came in with just over 197 items. Thus, the two teams combined for an amazing donation of over 500 items to a terrific organization, Ruth's Place, to help people of our local community. Thank you for your support.

Nelson Bell Tower STEAM Maker Challenge Exhibit The Louis Maslow STEM School of Wyoming Seminary is pleased to announce the opening of the Nelson Bell Tower STEAM Maker Challenge Exhibit. To highlight the preservation of our school's iconic landmark, we challenged our community members in Grades 3 through Postgraduate to design their own representation of the Bell Tower. The response to this challenge has been amazing! The completed projects will be on display in the Rusty Flack Gallery of the Kirby Center for Creative Arts on our Upper School campus. Please join us for the gallery opening and reception on Friday, December 3. The reception will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Friday, December 17. We hope to see you there! Best wishes, John R. Eidam, Jr Director, The Louis Maslow STEM School Wyoming Seminary

INCLEMENT WEATHER With the possibility of inclement winter weather, we urge you to review the information below prior to an actual snow event. The office, bus monitors, and all school personnel are extremely busy handling busing details, public school districts phone calls, announcements, updates to and from teachers, etc. The Lower School will follow the instructions you provided on your family's early dismissal form. Please contact the main office if you have changes or would like to review your selections. The office and classroom teachers should have the same instructions to follow on any early dismissal day.
Early Dismissal: When we are contacted by a school district about an early dismissal, parents of children who ride the bus may expect their students to be dismissed when that bus arrives. Students who do not ride the bus but whose district is closing early may be picked up at the early dismissal time in the main office.
Delayed Opening: If your school district is on a delayed opening schedule, your student will be permitted to arrive in accordance with your district's announced time, whether your student rides the bus or is driven to school.
School Closing: If your school district closes, they will not provide transportation and your student will not be expected in school even if we are open. If you wish to transport your student in this situation, do so at your own discretion.
Our students' safety is our main concern during bad weather. As always, please check our homepage often and sign up for text alerts for weather-related announcements. For more detailed information about our Inclement Weather Policy please see our lower school handbook.
