Join us for a weekend of Theater, Music and Dance! On Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, the Lower School Players will present The Lion King, Jr. Our Lower School actors are truly excited to present this powerful tale of Simba's life. Shows are Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Lower School's Amato Auditorium. On Sunday, April 3, Sem's Civic Orchestra and the Wyoming Seminary Dance Company will present Peter and the Wolf. This presentation is a wonderful way for children to learn about the orchestra as each character is represented by a different musical instrument. Dancers portray the animals of the forest as we see young Peter capture the dangerous wolf with the help of his friend, the Bird. The performance starts at 3:00 p.m. in the Kirby Center for the Creative Arts on the Upper School's campus.

ERB Assessments Continue
ERB CTP assessment tests will be administered in March/April. All Lower School students in grades 3 through 7 will be taking the ERB CTP tests online. • Fifth through seventh grade dates: Wednesday, March 30, Thursday, March 31, Monday, April 4, and Tuesday, April 5, 8:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Students may bring a water bottle and a small, healthy snack on their designated testing days. Water bottles or snacks will not be provided. We will be administering the CTP version of the ERB program. CTP is an assessment of students attending schools that aspire to higher standards. The test covers reading, vocabulary, writing, mathematics, verbal and quantitative reasoning. The data collected from these tests help to inform you as well as our school about student performance in key areas of school achievement. The purpose of the test is to determine what a student knows and can do at the time of testing. It helps to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses in achievement as well as helps teachers make decisions about their curriculum and instruction. Therefore, no test preparation is required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristine McCarthy, ERB testing coordinator, at kmccarthy@wyomingseminary.org. You may also check out the ERB website ERB Family Information for more details. |
